This is an intensive weekend to get hands-on with the building and testing of an actual FIRST Robotics Competition robot to play the game Crescendo.
You will have the chance to:
– learn how to use basic tools
– use Computer Aided Design software to learn how to convert design ideas into a actual robot
– assemble robot mechanisms and drive base
– connect / wire electronics
– work with robot programming
– learn from experience team members and mentors from engineering and science professions
We will actually compete with this robot at a low-pressure but exciting offseason event in Rockwall, TX (east side of Dallas) at the end of September! You can see the schedule for the NTX Tournament of Robots on this page: https://www.ntxrobotics.com/ntxtournament (scroll to the bottom to see the Sep 29 schedule).
Cost: $20 enrollment in Oklahoma County 4-H is required. (If you choose to stay with Team OKC for the season, you won’t need to pay the 4-H fee a second time). Families are responsible for their transportation and lodging at the competition, but we will work to minimize these costs and do things like carpool as needed.
